John Paul II Catholic High School invites applications from those who are interested in leading our boy's basketball program.
The successful candidate will:
- articulate a vision for a successful basketball program that aligns with the core principles of a Catholic school;
- understand and emphasize the importance of academics and spirituality when it comes to achieving on-court success;
- provide training, direction, encouragement, motivation, and advice to prepare student-athletes for competition;
- lead the program in all phases, including practice planning, conditioning, strategy and tactics, off-season workouts, and choosing and leading a staff; and
- embrace the responsibility of being a positive role model/mentor for students and as a representative of John Paul II Catholic High School.
JPII is a member of the NCISAA and competes in the Coastal Plain Independent Conference (CPIC). Head coaches report directly to the Director of Athletics.
Preferred qualifications:
- Three or more years of coaching experience with a track record of success
- Demonstrated ability to lead others
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to the team
